Description:
This hands-on class teaches kids fundamental techniques needed to prepare a variety of fresh made-from-scratch meals that all will enjoy! Along the way, we stress kitchen safety and the proper use of and care of cooking tools. As the class progresses they will prepare the kitchen, read recipes, get their ingredients ready, and get to eat the dishes they prepared.
We teach life-long cooking skills like:
- Cutting, slicing, dicing, julienne, shredding (with safety tools)
- Dry & liquid measuring
- Safe food handling/food assembly
- Sweet vs. Savory ingredients and dishes & food substitutions
Meals that we will create through the 4 weeks:
- Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup from scratch
- Freshly made Pasta and Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
- Authentic Ramen
- Homemade Pancakes
The first Session runs on Wednesdays (Ages 6-14) in March from 4 pm to 5:30 pm
Second Session will run on Wednesdays (Ages 6-14) May 8th - May 29th, 4pm to 5:30pm
