2022-2023 Parent Waiver Agreement

    Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

A major goal this school year continues to be…make it through the school year without contracting or spreading COVID-19 anywhere, but especially within the MSOE school and community. Additionally, MSOE is doing its best to ensure the health and safety of everyone coming in and out of the school. We can only do this in partnership with you, and hope for the least amount of inconvenience possible for everyone. Last school year we treated the situation as if everyone could be contagious, but now the threat is more real amongst our children. Fortunately, we are as prepared as we can be. Additionally, pending a grant, we will be adding additional purifiers, disinfectants and procedures for everyone’s health and well-being. We view it as being extra cautious.

Please note, being extra cautious and potentially missing a few days of extra schooling, should hopefully be worth it to all families compared to a worse alternative. It will be more costly to everyone (families and the school) if we have to shut down one or more programs for 14 days or longer. MSOE believes you are here because of the measures we are taking and the educational experiences we provide among other things.

We strictly adhere to instructions from the Burlington County Health Department, school administrators for the non-public sector and the Governor regardless of opinion. In short, we follow the rules imposed on us to stay open and strive to go the extra mile for everyone’s health and safety. This document includes new instructions along with a daily checklist that you will be responsible for communicating to the school should it apply to you or any of your family members or anyone else living with you.

Please note, Column A and Column B along with guidelines. Together, following guidelines, being extra cautious and communicating will get us through this together. The following is directly from the New Jersey Department of Health. For your reference, click here to see Governor Murphy’s August 2021 Executive Order.

Parents/Guardians: Please complete this short check each morning and report your child’s information per your school’s reporting  instructions. If there are symptoms or contact with people testing positive share it with the school asap.

    Section 1: Symptoms

Any of the symptoms below could indicate a COVID-19 or Delta Variant infection in children and may put your child and others at risk for spreading illness to others. Please note that this list does not include all possible symptoms and children with COVID-19 may
experience any, all, or none of these symptoms. A fever is defined as 100.4 or greater. Please check your child daily for these symptoms:
If TWO OR MORE of the fields in Column A are checked off OR AT LEAST ONE field in column B is checked off, please keep your child home, and notify the school for further instructions.

    Section 2: Close Contact/Potential Exposure

If ANY of the fields in Section 2 are checked off, your child should remain home for 14 days from the last date of exposure (if child is a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case) or date of return to New Jersey. Check with MSOE as this may be updated.

Contact your child’s provider or your local health department for further guidance.

Remainder of agreement for the entire 2022-202 school year

I agree to… not send my child to school if they or anyone in my household is displaying any symptoms, two or more symptoms from column A and/or one from Column B, even if I am convinced it is something other than COVID 19. If any symptoms are displayed (2 in column A
and/or one in Column B, we will not send our child to MSOE. The only dispute that can be accepted is proof from a health care professional.

I agree to… only come into the building out of necessity. Before entering the building, I will allow an MSOE Employee to evaluate and perform a temperature check.

If in the building, I will wear a mask at all times when in the building and will discuss with MSOE if there is a medical reason as to why a mask cannot be worn. At which point decisions will be made by the head of school.

We will do everything we can to make accommodations as needed.

If it is age appropriate, I will remind my children that there is no touching of friends.

I agree to speak as positively as possible with my child about wearing a mask and treating it with respect if it applies.

I understand that my child’s temperature will be checked, recorded and the child will be observed for symptoms before being allowed in the building.

I understand that children or adults that have a fever or are displaying symptoms in accordance with the New Jersey Health Department will not be allowed into the building. Children that display symptoms and are in the building will be brought to our isolation room with Mr. Matt or another adult that is not medically at high risk. Children may also wait outside with an adult to get picked up, weather permitting.

I understand that my child, if not enrolled as a toddler, and older than 2 years old may need to wear a mask whenever social distancing is not possible. I understand that my 2+ aged child may need to wear a mask indoors when not social distancing or being behind a barrier is not possible.

If my child is working or eating and at least six feet away, they can take their mask off.

I understand that my child will have their temperature checked and recorded at least once a day, will practice recommended hygiene and reasonable and recommended guidelines as mandated by the New Jersey Health Department and other governing bodies.

    HOLD HARMLESS

The school will take every reasonable precaution to prevent the contraction of COVID-19 and or variants to students while on school property. Parents will release, waive, or otherwise absolve Montessori Seeds of Education and its employees from any and all liability resulting from COVID - 19, other than negligent reasons relating to COVID-19, whether it be physical, emotional, or mental, which their child may be caused to suffer during the period that their child is under the custody and control of the school.

We understand that by signing this document we are agreeing to these terms throughout the time my child(ren) is/are in attendance for the 2022–2023 school year in lieu of a daily checklist with a required signature. We also understand that MSOE operates based on tuition and we will be held accountable to pay remaining tuition monies if MSOE is taking all necessary and required precautions and our child is removed from the program based on fear. MSOE will be committed to reasonably accommodate requests and issues as much as practicable.
